What's a Pathfinder?

Many of our ancestors are recognised as descending from a long line of expert explorers and navigators. Able to skillfully comprehend the environment and conditions around them, these ‘pathfinders’ could identify and steer the course that would lead them to their ideal goals and destination.

The skills needed to decide your career are no different. We must not only understand the world of work around us, but learn to follow the internal compass that guides the direction in our lives as well. Being just a ‘jobseeker’ can seem passive and disempowering, especially if success is only defined by whether you get a job or not.

At Ara Rau, we want to support people to find the unique pathway that aligns with their goals, values and aspirations, and that taking any positive steps towards this is worthwhile. Volunteer work, study or training, networking, developing your personal brand – all can be powerful ways to build a foundation towards meaningful employment, and help you to navigate your career journey with confidence.
